Due to budget restraints, the hospital has opted not to renew the contract for Dr. Ivy Clemente, chief pathologist at LBJ, says Taufete’e John Faumuina, the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer. He said the decision came from Chief Medical Officer Dr Iotamo Saleapaga, because there are currently two pathologists at the hospital, and Saleapaga contends the hospital only needs one.
